Fertilizer
Fertilizer for your lawn: The first step to fertilizing your lawn is to figure out which of the two most common methods of fertilization best suits your needs: liquid fertilizer or a granular fertilizer.
A liquid fertilizer is for a one-time, quick release application that yields immediate results in the quality of your lawn. It comes in ready-to-use bottles that can be hooked up directly to your hose and applied as you water. This method distributes the fertilizer first to the surface of the grass, and from there is absorbed into the grass and spread to the roots. Liquid fertilizer will improve the quality of your lawn quickly, but its effects will not last, and it is not an economically viable long-term solution for your lawn.
Granular fertilizer is picks up where liquid fertilizer leaves off. It is a dry fertilizer, often times the texture of thick, coarse millet, and is applied to the lawn via a spreader. Granular fertilizer is slow-release and soaks into the soil and applies itself directly to the roots. This method of fertilization takes longer to yield noticeable results, but will last for much, much longer, often times needing to be applied only once per year.
